Gigabyte’s first Android Handset: Leaked Images and Specifications

These days it seems as if everyone wants a piece of the smartphone market, the latest company planning to release a handset is Gigabyte, Gigabyte are famous for manufacturing computer hardware products.

This handset is said to be part of their new GSMart series, it will run Google’s Android OS and will feature a 2.8 inch touchscreen display, it will also feature WiFi, 3G and GPS connectivity along with a 2 megapixel camera.

Performance-wise the handset will feature a 528Mhz Qualcomm processor, 192MB of RAM and a 512MB ROM. Other things worth mentioning include the handset’s 3.5mm headset jack, its microSD memory card slot and its trackball.

The handset is said to launch in either February or March this year, it should cost around $300, we do not yet know of an official release date, nor have we heard details regarding carriers.
