Just yesterday we provided our readers with a little information on the newly unveiled Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS camera, which as we explained is the ideal purchase for those of you that enjoy the adventuring / outdoor life. Today we have news of three more new cameras that have recently been unveiled, only these are feature-rich GE compact cameras from General Imaging.
The three new models — which the company unveiled during the 2011 PMA Australia Imaging and Entertainment Expo in Sydney — include the GE G100 Power Pro, GE E1410SW Power Series and the entry-level GE J1456W Smart Series, which all come with a 14-megapixel sensor. The G100 and the E1410SW models are also the first GE cameras to come with advanced Aptina A-Pix CMOS pixel technology.
The first camera we’d like to talk about is the GE G100 compact bridge camera, which according to Zoltan Arva-Toth from photographyblog.com is the perfect option for those that are looking to move from a simple point-and-shoot camera to a more powerful model. The Aptina A-Pix CMOS pixel technology enables the GE G100 to shoot high-speed photos at 10fps and high-performance 1080p full HD video.
It also comes with more than 30 different shooting modes, a large 3-inch high-resolution LCD display, 3200 ISO, optical image stabilization, a 15x optical zoom and a built-in HDMI port, which enables users to connect the camera to their HDTV so they can share their images and videos. Although we don’t know an exact release date as of yet, we do know that the G100 will be available sometime in October 2011.
Meanwhile, the ultra-compact GE E1410SW comes with a thin and stylish design, and a 10x optical zoom. The E1410SW camera — which will provide high-performance 1080p full HD video and the best quality still images thanks to its enhanced light sensitivity — is ideal for any occasion from hiking trips and kids’ sports days, to weekends in the city or a day out at the beach.
The GE E1410SW is also due to arrive sometime in October this year. The final model on the list is the GE J1456W, which comes with a number of easy to use features including red-eye removal, 720p HDD video capturing capabilities and Smile, Blink and Face Detection. It also comes with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and a 5x zoom. The J1456W model is all set to launch in August this year.
