Gears of War 3: Xbox 360 Campaign trailer sets standard for Q4 2011

We have a treat for Gears of War fans now, as Microsoft has just unleashed a new trailer for Gears of War 3, which is due out on the Xbox 360 in September. This one isn’t a gameplay trailer though, instead it’s the very first look at campaign mode in the game.

We’ve previously shown you some multiplayer gameplay from the upcoming shooter, but this new trailer focuses on the campaign mode, and you even get to see a few cutscenes taken directly from Gears 3, one of which features Marcus and his father.

Other scenes from the trailer give us a glimpse of some of the spectacular boss battles that you’ll have to deal with, oh and by the way the game is looking pretty fantastic from a graphics point of view – it’s easily the best looking Gears title to date compared with the other two.

We also see vehicle levels, and flying from zipwires, which is always a plus – who doesn’t like flying from a zipwire in the heat of the action? Hopefully this is just a small dose of what’s to come from Microsoft’s full reveal at E3 2011. Watch the trailer below and let us know your thoughts on it.

Do you think Gears of War 3 will be a contender for game of 2011? PS: Don’t forget to select HD from the drop down menu if you want to enjoy the trailer with max settings.
