GDC 2010: PS3’s God Of War III – Graphics engine is only ’50-60%’

Some pretty astonishing news to bring you now, as it has been confirmed that upcoming PS3 exclusive God Of War III, only uses around 50-60% of the game engine’s graphics capabilities.

That is according to game director Stig Asmussen who has been giving a few words to Destructoid at GDC this week.

He also revealed the juicy details that the team will most likely be using the same game engine for their next title, as he continued: ”And I think we’re probably about 50- or 60-percent at it right now. I think there’s a lot more we can do with it.”

This is pretty crazy when you think about it, considering the game is looking like one of the best ever on the PS3, from a pure visual point of view.

So they are saying that they have an extra 50-40% of extra juice left over from the finished GoW product. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
