Garmin 3D Nav integrated into Mercedes-Benz concept car

Many years ago the technology inside a car remained rather stagnant, but since the digital age things have been moving at a much faster rate. The interior of a vehicle is so much different to what we ever imagined 20 years ago, and now car manufacturers are competing with each other to offer their customers the best technology available at affordable prices.

Earlier this month we got a closer look at the Mercedes-Benz Concept S-Class Coupé and the all-new Garmin 3D Nav integrated in satellite navigation. What makes this system so different is how it can be fully customized, but it is some of its other features that will help to make it a perfect system inside the Mercedes.

The new Garmin navigation system is to offer 3D City Models, such as roads, rivers, parks and also textured buildings, and if you feel as though you have seen something like this before then you would be correct, as the hardware is based on the K2 infotainment platform that was on show at CES back in January.

With Mercedes backing the new system this gives Garmin the boost they needed, and seeing this on show during the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013 has done wonders for the brand and their technology because having a premium carmaker showing off new technology from Garmin is the best sort of marketing.

As we mentioned above the system is not like what we see in other vehicles, as this one can be fully customized, meaning the graphics can be designed to keep with the flow of the vehicle it has been put in to. You can see an in-depth look into the new system on the Garmin website, or get a look at the futuristic design of the Mercedes-Benz Concept S-Class Coupé in the video below.
