GappCenter was a website that hosted links to the Cartoon HD app on Android and iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad. Towards the end of last month the Twitter account for GappCenter uploaded an image revealing what seemed to be a new Cartoon HD app, which has led to some people wondering if GappCenter will release a new Cartoon HD app soon following the old one being closed.
Some people noticed their Cartoon HD app crashing and were able to set the date back a few days to get it working again, although the real issue is the service has been closed forever leaving people wondering what happened? Today, Twitter users are speculating about a new application they hope will replace Cartoon HD as the next best alternative app.

You can see the Gapp Center tweet above that just showed a Movie application image with “coming soon”. Replies to this tweet now include those hoping this is the next application, although we get a feeling this was being worked on before Cartoon HD got closed and users found the app not working anymore.

Did you use Cartoon HD in iOS 7 or Android, would you upgrade to a new app or start paying for movies instead? When you get something for free and then it stops working, you can understand the upset it will cause if unexpected. Tweets in reply to the GappCenter coming soon image include “please say this is happening sooner than soon”, and “I really hope this replaces Cartoon HD soon, the old app is crashing and many of the free movie streams don’t work after setting the date back”.
There won’t be a fix for crashing problems with Cartoon HD, but you can expect an alternative soon for Android and iPhone users will have a harder time finding a replacement. We’ll leave our readers to debate the moral/legal aspects of these apps along with why they’re taken down for this reason, although it is clear some people will keep hunting for another app or service with mentions of FliXanity and Popcorn Time already.
We are in the middle of more development of our mobile and tablet versions please excuse any issues and try to use search 🙂

In fact, FliXanity has already setup a Twitter account named “The New Cartoon HD” app, as seen in the tweet above they plan on releasing phone and tablet apps soon as well. Will it ever end and shouldn’t people pay for movies? Time will tell.
