Gamescom 2012 dates, location and wishlist

The E3 2012 press conferences were pretty exciting for some gamers and others couldn’t be more disappointed, but the good thing about the games industry is there will always be another event just around the corner. The next big event coming to our mind is Gamescom 2012, so we thought a quick look at the dates, location, and a wishlist was in order.

First up let’s point out that while these events reveal some of the biggest announcements for gaming, not all developers and publishers reveal their biggest news at a big event. Some like to save the news for a dedicated event held by themselves, and some gamers think certain games are too cool for E3 and Gamescom, one game that comes to mind here is Grand Theft Auto 5 although there is divided opinion on why they would miss E3. Are they too cool or is it because of past experiences?

There are a number of dates for Gamescom in 2012, and while it starts on August 15 and runs through to August 19, the event will not be open to everyone until August 16. You can see the opening times for each date in the image above. The event will attract the biggest names including Bethesda Softworks, Take-Two Interactive, Ubisoft, Namco Bandai, Crytek, Capcom, and many more. You can see a list of exhibitors here.

If you want to know more about the Gamescom 2012 location in Cologne, then you can see this page that lists travel advice and further information.

What would you like to see from Gamescom 2012? Did you feel something was missing from E3, and do you hope it comes to Cologne this August? Leave your wishlist below in the comments.
