Galaxy S5 release date clues for UK, US begin

Things are starting to get very exciting indeed for those who are patiently waiting for the latest Galaxy S5 news. It looks like Samsung are finally ready to go public with their plans, as we now know that the Korean manufacturer has confirmed a Samsung Unpacked 5 event to take place on February 24 2014.

Although not directly linked to MWC 2014 as far as we’re aware, this event will be taking place in Barcelona in line with Samsung’s previous tradition.

Interestingly, the event banner has been released publicly with emphasis on the number ‘5’. The confirmed Samsung Unpacked 2014 event start time is 8PM CET, although gates will be open from 6.30PM.

We have heard all sorts of rumored Galaxy S5 release dates in UK and US, but will Samsung finally put everyone out of their misery and announce a date at this event?

Skeptics are still doubting whether this number 5 will bear any significance to the Galaxy S5, but the excitement factor inside us hopes that it does.

Either way if it doesn’t happen at this Unpacked event, then Samsung will obviously announce the device soon after if they hold a separate event at MWC – so fear not.

Have you been saving your money and contract data plans specifically for the Galaxy S5 release in the UK and US? Give us your reaction to Samsung going public with the February 24 event.
