Galaxy S4 vs. HTC One US pre-orders and pricing

The shipping date for the Samsung Galaxy S4 is April 26, while the HTC One will begin to ship on April 19, 2013. However, yesterday pre-orders began for HTC’s flagship smartphone, whereas those waiting for Samsung’s flagship handset will need to wait until April 16 before they can pre-order thiers.

AT&T began pre-orders for the HTC One yesterday with a starting price of $199.99 for the 32GB model on a two-year contract, and a $100 more for the 64GB model.

Sprint opened up their pre-orders for the HTC One around the same time as AT&T, although they only seem to be offering the smaller capacity model. However, we have learned that Sprint will reduce the price to $99.99 if you are a new customer and wish to bring your cell phone number across.

As for T-Mobile, their HTC One pre-orders started today, and they also offer the handset for $99, although we expect you will have to pay a little extra on top of those 24 monthly payments.

AT&T will charge $250 upfront for the Samsung Galaxy S4 on a two-year contract, which is $50 more than you would normally pay for a high-end smartphone.

Sprint has yet to officially announce when they will begin pre-orders for the Galaxy S4, but we expect the price will be similar to that of AT&T. Again, T-Mobile are keeping their pricing and Galaxy S4 availability to themselves, which seems a little silly considering this is going to be one of the biggest selling smartphones of 2013.

Finally, Verizon is said to be releasing a customized version of the HTC One, even though we leaned last month they would not offer the handset to their customers. Also, while we expect Big Red to ship the S4 later this month they have yet to release details on when they will begin pre-orders.

So the choice is yours, which of the two handsets will you go for?
