Galaxy S4 and Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat release legitimacy

We’ve already seen the Nexus 7 and 10 receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update, as well as select Moto X handsets for Verizon customers. However, as yet, there have been no other Android handsets to get this update, although we do know of those that are all set to get them.

Sony and HTC already hinted that they are already looking into updating their flagship handsets, but we have had no specific date. This is also the case with Samsung, although a recent rumor suggests that the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 could receive the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade in January 2014.

The rumor also says that the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 will see the KitKat update in April, which seems a long time considering the fact the release of the Galaxy S5 should be around that time.

We cannot be certain as to the legitimacy of this Galaxy S4 and Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat release claim because there have been no clues as to which carrier the update will be made available on.

AT&T had planned an S4 update to KitKat, but for some reason this was stopped. For now we just have to guess, unless Samsung makes the update available to all, but then we all know how slow carriers can be.

I just received my Kit Kat update on my Nexus 7 tablet and now iHeartRadio does not work. I would guess the longer wait times (for carriers) are to insure that most of the apps work before they get released to download. Anyone familiar with the Android operating system should realize after any update to be patient and wait for developers to make their apps work. Froyo to Gingerbread had me foaming at the mouth as many programs no longer worked. Now I just know better. By this time next month everything will be flawless. No reason to even spend… Read more »

People praise sammy and I usually do also but when it comes to updates I think they are poor. The mere size of sammy and the money they have should be spent on updating software on there phones immediately. Once that nexus has been released with a new os and Google give the all clear they should have it installing within a few weeks. Sammy are slowly pushing me towards a nexus or even a HTC.
