We’ve already seen the Nexus 7 and 10 receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update, as well as select Moto X handsets for Verizon customers. However, as yet, there have been no other Android handsets to get this update, although we do know of those that are all set to get them.
Sony and HTC already hinted that they are already looking into updating their flagship handsets, but we have had no specific date. This is also the case with Samsung, although a recent rumor suggests that the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 could receive the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade in January 2014.
The rumor also says that the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 will see the KitKat update in April, which seems a long time considering the fact the release of the Galaxy S5 should be around that time.
We cannot be certain as to the legitimacy of this Galaxy S4 and Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat release claim because there have been no clues as to which carrier the update will be made available on.
AT&T had planned an S4 update to KitKat, but for some reason this was stopped. For now we just have to guess, unless Samsung makes the update available to all, but then we all know how slow carriers can be.
