Galaxy Nexus US release date update, Verizon prepares product URLs

It looks like the release date merry-go-round involving the 4G LTE Galaxy Nexus has finally come to an end, as a recent equipment guide leak from Verizon appears to have revealed a solid launch date for the highly anticipated device.

If you have been keeping an eye on developments for the US Galaxy Nexus, you’ll know that there has been around 20 different potential release dates for the Ice Cream Sandwich device, with December 8th previously looking likely to be the official launch date.

However, an equipment guide obtained by Droid-Life reveals that the device will actually be launching this Friday on December 9th. We told you about this possibility in a previous article here when another leaked document revealed that UPS were planning to ship Galaxy Nexus handsets to Verizon stores on December 6th, ready for a big retail launch on December 9.

With this new information in mind, it is worth pointing out that we have still not had an official confirmation from Verizon, despite the fact that the handset is apparently set for release in just two days time.

On a side note, those of you who are looking to pick up a either Galaxy Nexus or Droid 4 from Verizon will be interested to know about the following product pages that will go live once the devices are made official. We’ve been informed that the Galaxy Nexus page will go live here, and the Droid 4 product page here. At the moment, the pages are empty, but expect this to change very soon.

Which handset will you be choosing between the two? Is it all about the Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich for you, or is the first 4G LTE handset with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard more important for you? We’ll update this when the product pages are live.
