Galaxy Nexus to get Flash next month, no sound fix ETA

Since Samsung released the Galaxy Nexus a couple of weeks ago the biggest problem that users found with the handset was the sound issue. Many users have complained that while making a call the sound in the earpiece could suddenly decrease. Google and Samsung have promised a fix will be released even though there is an unofficial one available. Another thing that early adopters found with the device was the lack of Flash support. We can now tell you that the Galaxy Nexus is to get Flash next month, but no sound fix ETA is available.

According to TechRadar Adobe has announced the handset will get Flash Player 11.1 before the end of the year. The company announced the news on its Adobe AIR and Flash Player blog, with it due to arrive in December.

Greg DeMichillie from Adobe said “To be clear, the Galaxy Nexus does not initially support Adobe Flash Player 11.1 and AIR 3.1”. When the device was launched many early owners took to the web to moan about the missing feature, and DeMichillie said the delay was because “Adobe’s partners’ “varied schedules that are different from our own“.

Adobe has recently revealed it is to end mobile Flash support, and the Ice Cream Sandwich update will be the last version released for the mobile sector. Owners of the handset will be more concerned about the issues with the volume on the handset being resolved first though. Consumers in the US are still waiting for an official release date for the handset, with some reports hinting at December 9th.
