Galaxy Nexus reviews roll in with possible LTE US release date

Consumers over in the UK can now get their hands on the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which is the first smartphone to be running the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Now the Galaxy Nexus reviews roll in with a possible LTE US release date

Over at The Telegraph it is being reported that the first thing that hits you about the Nexus is its size. The 4.65-inch HD screen was shown off earlier in a video and its strength despite the absence of Gorilla glass. The 1.2GHz dual-core processor has plenty of power with the battery lasting around a day after some heavy use.

Gone are the physical buttons along the bottom, and change with how the handset is being held. Applications that have recently been used are easy accessible just like on an Android tablet. The Nexus also has enhanced spellchecking for the touchscreen keyboard, and a web browser that allows for pages to be saved and viewed off line.

The face unlock feature was good when it worked, but lots of times it couldn’t find the users face. The team over at The Verge have a long detailed review of the handset, and liked the fact it’s nice and thin so it doesn’t feel like you have such a big handset in your hand. The Battery life was given an overall score of seven out of ten, which with a smartphone of this size is pretty good.

It was felt that the Galaxy Nexus is the best Android smartphone made so far, and possibly the best smartphone full stop. Meanwhile over at Computer World they are reporting that a Google spokesperson has hinted an LTE version of the handset will be launching this coming Monday.
