Further iPhone 5 hints with Vodafone teaser

With the iPhone 5 official reveal expected to come at Apple’s event on October 4th, it looks like one carrier has dropped further hints on the incoming fifth-generation model, just in case you needed to bask in further satisfation that it’s on the way.

That carrier is Vodafone, as although the carrier previously revealed the iPhone 5 as a compatible phone for their Sure Signal booster device, this information has now been removed by the carrier.

The latest news is that the Australian division of the carrier has teased consumers with an image of a smartphone hidden uncover a curtain, including the following information with it, as reported from BGR. – ”End the rumors. Register now for info on this year’s biggest smartphone release. It’s coming soon to Vodafone.”

While we’re obviously aware that this could be related to an Android smartphone, we highly doubt it will be. Instead it’s almost certain to be the iPhone 5 that they’re talking about, and they are obviously keen to let consumers know that Vodafone will be one of the first carriers to take hold of the device and sell it the moment Apple release it, which we’re hoping will be sometime in the middle of October after Apple’s announcement.

On the other hand, it would be interesting if Vodafone were calling everyone’s bluff and this actually turns out to be something huge like the Nexus Prime. That announcement would also go down well with consumers we feel, and if it’s the ‘biggest smartphone’ release of the year, then it has to be the iPhone 5 or Nexus Prime, one of the two surely?

Will another US carrier now step up and attempt a similar marketing campaign, whilst still making the iPhone 5 a secret to an extent? It has been rumored for months that Sprint is getting the iPhone 5 too, so we’d like to see an ad from them which gives consumers some hope, but still keeping the smartphone under wraps until Apple’s big day.
