This awesome feature allows you to see, speak to, and treat your dogs using a tap of a button.
After we spent some time with the Furbo Dog HD Camera during our hands-on review, we quickly discovered why the Furbo has been tagged as one of the “best pet cams” around. We’ve included some pictures above and below before we unboxed the Furbo Dog HD Camera and started our review. The photo below clearly reveals what this product is about, in a nutshell demonstrating the way you connect with pets using a mobile device.
Like we do with most of our reviews, the photos below introduce you to what’s inside when the Furbo Dog HD Camera is first opened. So, take a look at the next couple of photos to see just that and exactly how well everything is packaged.
This treat dispenser has a very tight packaging making sure it’s well protected causing no damage when in storage.
The Unboxing – Once you’ve finished unboxing you’ll notice that there isn’t a lot of items, with a quick round up there is the Furbo Dog HD Camera, a USB cable, an instruction manual, and the power adapter.
You can see a close up of the adapter below that you can easily connect the USB cable to and of course then connect to the power port on the back of the Furbo Dog HD Camera also before turning on.
In terms of ports, you won’t find much to connect to with the Furbo unit, as the setup process is mostly done from within the application on Apple or Android devices.
At first you might wonder where the power adapter was, but after quickly looking under the wooden top of the Furbo Dog HD Camera you’ll find the power adapter inside.
First Look – The Furbo treat dispenser has a unique design and has been kept to a minimum look, but let’s be honest it’s for your dog, unless of course you are placing within a modern living area and in that case the unit will blend in nicely.
The unit isn’t too heavy and is built very well. Featuring extra strong PC-ABS plastic and equipped with industrial-strength 3M adhesive pads, you know for sure you won’t need replacement anytime soon.
Furbo Dog Treat Tossing – With the Furbo’s 720p HD camera featuring a super-wide 120° angle lens, 4x digital zoom and night vision you’ll be able to see what your dog is doing night and day. If the dog suddenly starts barking the Furbo will alert your phone through an app, meaning you can talk and comfort him/her whilst tossing them treats, this is all thanks to a microphone inside the treat dispenser. Your dog will receive the treats given by yourself out of a hole located at the bottom of the Furbo, those that really love gadgets and their pets will find this product a must-have.
The Furbo Treat Tossing Dog Camera App – You can see the Furbo app icon installed on an iPhone 7 below, also available on Android, which is found simply by searching the App Stores or using the download links below.
When you first open the Furbo app, you’ll need to either sign in or setup a new user. If this is the first time you’ve opened the app, then just click “New User” and follow on screen instructions.
Once connected you just pair with your home WiFi and then can start sending treats right away, or connect to the live video just to see how they are doing if you’re away from home. The picture below shows your smartphone screen when you get to send treats to your dog.
Download on Android and iOS – You can download the app for use with the camera at Google Play and Apple’s App Store.

While you will either love or hate it, we found the wooden top to the Furbo Dog HD Camera a nice touch giving it a much more quality feel.
You won’t have a problem overfilling the Furbo with treats, as inside there’s a MAX LEVEL that will make sure you fill to the correct level. Further details on exactly what treats to use will be found inside the manual.
Final Thought – Overall we found the Furbo Dog HD Camera is a great invention making any dog owners life that little bit easier when out and about. In our opinion, everyone uses their smartphones 80 per cent of the day anyway, so being able to talk to your pet whilst you’re at work for instance is a great idea.
The main drawback we see, like with many innovative products, is if pet owners are willing to pay the price for such a gadget. The Furbo Dog HD Camera sells for just under £180 on Amazon, at the time of posting, but after using the product for a few days it seems well worth paying, and we know how much some people care about their pets, so it’s a price most will likely pay.
We recommend the Furbo Dog HD Camera to those that leave pets at home, it will certainly make your pet that much happier.
