Although there are plenty of great games to purchase for the iPad and the newly-released iPad 2, not everyone likes paying for them no matter how cheap they are. However, there are also a lot of free games available on the Apple App Store, and some are just as good as or better than the paid ones.

The list of apps range from puzzle games such as Trainyard Express, which features a total of 60 puzzles, to platform games such as Cliffed: Norm’s World XL.

Air Hockey Gold is another game on the list and although this is in fact a universal iOS game, it does work better on the iPad’s larger screen. Another game that made it onto the list is Aurora Feint 3, which has been described as Bejeweled welded onto a basic role-playing game.
