Free Decrypt Cryptolocker files recovery program

There is finally a new program set up that allows Cryptolocker files to be recovered for free, which means if you had files stolen as a result of the security issue, then you will finally be able to retrieve your files that were taken from you. There were around 500,000 victims in all, and all of them will be very happy to hear this news.

Cryptolocker was a malicious program that managed to encrypt files on Windows computers, and in order to get your files back you had to pay a fee. However, you will be happy to learn that this new program to get the files back is now free.

As you would expect, this is nothing to do with the guy who set up the scam in order to make some money, but rather a portal created by Fox-IT called Decrypt Cryptolocker, which as you may well know was one of the many security companies that managed to bring Cryptolocker down.

Victims will be able to request a special key giving them access to the stolen files. In order to do so you will have to submit a file that has been encrypted, and from there the team behind the portal will be able to work out the encryption key that was used in the first place.

It would be best to submit a file that does not contain any sensitive information. For full details visit the Decrypt Cryptolocker portal.
