A few weeks ago we provided our readers with a list of the top 40 free games to download for both the Apple iPad and the iPad 2. Now we thought we would take a look at some of the best free games that are available for users of the Android operating system.
Gary Cutlack over at techradar.com has recently provided a list of what he believes is the top 40 best free gaming apps for Android. There are a few word games that have made it onto the list, including the hugely popular Words with Friends application.
The Words with Friends app — a turn-based word game – enables users to play up to 20 games simultaneously. Another word-related app that made it onto the list is the Word Drop game, in which players have to make blocks disappear by spelling out words.
There are also a number of puzzle-related games on the list including the gem-shuffling game Bebbled, ConnecToo and Frozen Bubble. If you like platform games, you’ll be pleased to know that games such as Abduction! Cordy and Replica Island made the list.
