We have some important news for Fortnite players on PS4 now, as a recent patch released specifically on Sony’s console appears to be causing a lot of headaches for players.
Some of you may have noticed that the Fortnite 1.53 update on PS4 is over 10GB in size and are wondering why the file is so big and if it is intended by the developers.
We now have confirmation that it definitely isn’t intended as the Fortnite 1.53 patch notes only specify ‘crash fixes’ related to the PS4 version and nothing else.
We’re aware that the PS4 3.4.4 patch size is 10 GB, which was unexpected. We’re looking into this issue right now, and apologize for the inconvenience.

As you can see from the Tweet above, this isn’t supposed to be happening and now Epic Games are investigating the matter.
If you haven’t installed Fortnite 1.53 on PS4 yet, you may want to hold off from doing so until a fix has been issued which will revert the patch back to its intended size.
Did you see a 10GB install for Fortnite update 1.53 when it went live early on April 4? Let us know below and we’ll update you when we have a fix to share.
