Having played Forge of Empires for a number of months now, we can confirm that the online strategy game is really addictive and after spending weeks building your empire everyday it is hard to let things go. Most players still have a long way to go before they reach the Progressive Era, we just got there, and this is why you should take advantage of events when they arrive to help give you a little boost up the technology tree.
Forge of Empires start the Winter Event on December 1st and it will end on January 2nd, 2014. You will get a chance to complete a new Frosty The Snowman quest line and plenty of interesting missions for winter with various rewards, which we will list in full after they arrive this weekend.
The event brings a new seasonal currency called “Winter Stars”, and it’s best to hold on to these thanks to the benefit of unlocking presents in the Forge of Empires winter window.
During the winter event you will find a number of different presents on offer and these include buildings, units, blueprints and Forge Points. You will also be teased each day with a unique prize in the top right corner of the winter window, and this will be found in one of the presents. This special prize will be well worth finding thanks to it being either a new winter bonus building, a building from previous events, or even extra winter stars.
The selection of presents will be there for 24 hours and after this time you will see the presents reset, along with a new special prize taking over what was there before, so there’s a good chance you will miss a lot of special prizes if you don’t play everyday. Of course the game creators want to make real world money, so they will give you the chance to purchase missed special prizes with Diamonds.
There’s also special tiles, which allow gamers to benefit from shuffle all reward, or Double payout and lastly Show 2 for revealing a couple of unopened presents.
Forge of Empires will feature new avatars and unique buildings during their winter event. These will include two new festive avatars and eight new winter buildings, although those that complete the Frosty The Snowman quest line gain a chance to upgrade a previous event building to something new.
Enjoy the Forge of Empires winter event for 2013, and we might even see you in the game.
