Ford has got off to a great start this year, as their Transit Connect and Fusion Hybrid took top honors at the Detroit Auto Show 2010. The vehicles won Truck and Car of the Year respectively, so there are big hopes for some of the new models coming into production.
While at the 2010 North American International Auto Show, president of Ford’s Americas division, Mark Fields said that their plan to offer industry-leading products to its customers seems to be working.
This year will see Ford move things up a gear, they know that the Internet and Twitter is big business, which is why the Sync system will allow you to update and read the latest news form the micro-blogging website.
Ford has now won truck of the year at the Detroit Auto Show twice in a row, last year the F-150 took the honors. However, the Hyundai Genesis won the Car of The Year in 2009.
The Ford Fusion Hybrid uses a mix of a standard gas engine and an electric motor to offer the driver 41 mpg in the city and 36 miles per galloon on the highway. According to CNN Money, the vehicle has been well received, with many critics giving it rave reviews.
The Transit Connect is a small commercial van that has been available in Europe for some time now, the U.S. market has only recently taken stock of these popular vans, but seem to have fallen in love with them.
