Ford issues recall for Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Interceptor

We almost made it a month without having too many recalls, but Ford had to go ahead and issue two separate recalls. However, there have not been any reported accidents or injuries, which we have to say is a very good thing.

The first recall is for three different models, although all with the same potential problem, and that is an interior door handle issue. The vehicles involved are the 2010-2013 Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Police Interceptor.

Going back to the issue at hand, Car Recalls reports that the door handles could have a faulty spring control, and in the event of an accident the door could open, but only in a side-impact.

Our source has more details for you on the years that these vehicles were manufactured. However, we can tell you that Ford will inspect, and replace the door handles if needed.

There is also a recall for the 2014 Ford Transit Connect, which affects 16,100 of them. It would seem that during the manufacturing process the Safety belt fasteners were not tightened to the correct torque setting, and so could be loose.

All you will need to do is take your vehicle to your local dealer for the torque setting to be checked and tightened if necessary. Please remember, if you are worried at all, then please contact your local Ford dealer.
