Fone for iOS: Free Voice Chat App Hits Apple App Store

If you own an iPhone and you’re looking for an application that enables you to make free Voice over IP (VoIP) calls, then you have definitely got a few to choose from. Not only do you have the choice of Skype and Facebook Messenger, but also the recently released Fone app.

The Fone for iOS app is the ideal way to keep in contact with all of your Facebook friends, as it enables you to call them for free. The application also enables users to call their friends direct from Facebook chat on the Facebook website, if they are using the Fone app on their iPhone or iPod Touch.

All users have to do to initiate a call is simply send the ‘/call’ message, which their friends will immediately receive on Fone. The Fone app also comes with some other great features, such as the ability to send photos from your camera or album and use emoticons.

The free voice chat application — which features full multi-tasking support – also enables users to keep a track of all their message history, view a friend’s Facebook Wall and receive replies instantly with Apple Push Notifications. Users can also setup sound notifications if they want to.

As noted over on the website, the Fone application connects direct to Facebook, so it doesn’t store your password on other servers. Are you looking for a free voice chat app for your iOS device?
