First iPhone 5C cases instigates silly season

It is nothing new for a new smartphone case to be released ahead of the handset release, although this only happens once the device has had its official unveiling, that way they know what it will look like. However, when it comes to the iPhone, there have been times when case makers jump the gun, and this is just what has happened.

The first iPhone 5C cases have already appeared on Amazon, and have been manufactured by Elago. The release date for these iPhone 5C cases is August 30, 2013, which is either confidence or arrogance? This does instigate the start of silly season don’t you think?

There are three cases in all for Apple’s so-called cheap iPhone, which come in black, navy and white. However, this is not the first time such a case has leaked, which means we could now begin to see a bunch of other case makers getting in on the action, although this could turn back and bite them.

Jumping the gun can often work well for case makers, and they are prepared to take the risk, because the rewards of being one of the first to offer a iPhone 5C case before their rivals will be very lucrative. Then again, it is a huge risk, but then we all know how cheap these are to manufacture in China, so not as big of a risk as you would think.

If this company has got it right, then these iPhone 5C cases will sell like hot cakes because the cheaper handset will mean consumers will have more money to spend on accessories, just wonder if Apple will offer up any low-cost iPhone accessories as well to help compliment the new handset?

We would just like to remind that that the release of this new iPhone is mere speculation and has been rumored for years, although 2013 does look like it will happen this time.
