First BF3 Armored Kill gunship features detailed

PS3 players who have just forked out on Battlefield Premium can now enjoy the Close Quarters DLC expansion pack as it’s now available to download exclusively ahead of Xbox 360 and PC.

While Close Quarters adds a new dimension to Battlefield 3 by bringing four smaller maps to players, the next expansion coming in September, Armored Kill, is arguably receiving the most attention. The reason for this is that this pack will be solely based on new vehicle warfare and the content will add brand new vehicles for you to try out, as well as the ‘biggest map in Battlefield history’ according to the developers.

September is a long time to wait of course, but you’ll be pleased to hear that some new information on Armored Kill is starting to creep out a little early. The good guys over at Battlefieldo have managed to get their hands on an Armored Kill ‘fact sheet’ and it reveals that one of the new vehicles is a gunship that players can spawn into and man the cannons. This may be a bit disappointing to those of who were hoping to actually fly the thing, but still being able to use its weapons is the next best thing so we still can’t wait to see how it handles.

The screenshot you see above is the view you’ll see once in the gunship and pay attention to the amount of seats possible as well. It looks like there will only be room for two unfortunately, but both seats have access to weapons so we imagine this will be a ton of fun when you are raining down fire onto the troops and vehicles below.

Going back to DICE’s promise of the ‘biggest map ever’, the screenshot shown here could also be that map in question, as we see as many as 7 flags in view. We’re also really excited to see the return of quad bikes as well in Armored Kill – just imagine the fun you can have in them when flanking the enemy and shooting soliders whilst on the bikes. The last expansion End Game is going to include motorbikes as well, so DICE really has us covered for the rest of the year and into the first few months of 2013.

How are you enjoying Close Quarters at the moment? Is it everything you hoped for, or are you more excited about Armored Kill? Are you a bit disappointed that there’s only two slots in the gunship? Give us your thoughts on the way Battlefield 3 is progressing at the moment with the addition of Premium.

I was hoping to be able to fly the AC-130. It can be shot down though. Should have been a 4 seater. 105, 40mm, Equalizer (25mm) and pilot.

If the details you are giving about the gunship are accurate I am more than disapointed. I assume this also means it can’t be shot down by fighters and/or defended by jets. When is DICE going to give us something that REALLY takes advantage of teamwork?? I haven’t played BF3 is a while and unless something like vehicle that a whole squad can really use I don’t think I’ll be playing again. I probably won’t be paying for the next BF
