Firefox 4 Beta 7: New Version Is 5x Faster Say Mozilla

Mozilla yesterday released another new version of it’s web browser that is supposed to be 3-5x faster than the stable 3.6.12 build that currently exists for download today.

Although Mozilla were a little late delivering Beta 7 due to heavy crash counts across the board, users can now download the beta that integrates a device called JaegerMonkey.

But all may not be as it seems. Ingenus LLC conducted some significant benchmarking tests that resulted in limited instances of a 300% speed increase, that averaged out at around 2.38x faster than Firefox 3.6.12 overall. More in depth testing results can be viewed by visiting the source below.

For those of you interested in downloading the beta to test it for yourself, check out Mozilla’s beta page.
