Find the best gas stations near you with apps

With fuel prices constantly on the increase, we have two apps to help you find the best gas stations near you. Both available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Fuel Finder by Bottle Rocket is a great way for you to get the cheapest gas in the US and Canada and Fuel Smart (US) Pro by Stewart Malcolm is also similar in keeping those running costs down. The fact that gas prices can jump from as much as 20% within a small drive means that you could generally be paying a lot more than the next person. With these applications, you can save money with just a tap on your device.

The Fuel Finder application can save you up to $300 a year. With this app compiled from prices submitted by millions of users was voted the best gas price app on the iPhone and iPod. Using statistics of figures from March this year a vehicle that has an 18 gallon tank that gets 18 MPG in the city and drives 15,000 miles per year in Dallas, TX will save up to $7.56/tank and $389.22/year by using the Fuel Finder. Although prices frequently change.

Fuel Smart (US) Pro
is an easy to use app that is similar to the Fuel Finder. It uses a color-coding for information regarding the age of the pricing and compares costs savings between local gas stations. There is an option to search your GPS location when entering a town or use a zip code. This means you can check on prices before you even get there and gain directions to that particular money saving gas pump.

Calculating you savings with these apps is far more beneficial than working out how much you have overpaid. Both apps have great searching capabilities for fuel types, prices, distance and directions and are available for $2.99 each. A bargain when you think you could actually make that back in savings on one trip to fill your tank. With information given to help you with filling up a certain tank size or prices on individual fuel types having a fuel app could save you time and money.

Knowing about the ever-increasing fuel prices it would be wise to invest in an application that will assist you. For more information, visit the App Store.
