Find out how many carbs foods contain via an iOS app

An application which can be a great way for people to keep a check on how many carbs the food they are eating contains, has just been updated. iCarbs 1.8 is available for owners of the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

Released by independent developer James Hollender, the application has just received a major update which now allows users to record their nutrient intake information. Users can find information in over 1,100 different food servings, and is ideal for diabetics who need to watch how much carbohydrates they are taking in.

The app is based on the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference. Foods are rated for carbohydrate content from extremely low to extremely high. Foods are rated with colors starting with white for low through to black for high. This will be a great tool for helping people to decide what to eat.

iCarbs 1.8 is available on the App Store for only $1.99/£1.19. iOS 4.2 or later required.
