Find out about the wonders of the world with iPad apps

With so many amazing places to visit on this planet you might be lucky enough to see something truly majestic. Wonders of the world might be a personal opinion or you may find the seven ancient wonders of the world are the main places that should be viewed by anyone that gets the chance. We thought it would be a good idea to show you a few iPad apps that could entice you to make that special journey to visit a wonder of the world from the Hanging Gardens of Babylon to the Taj Mahal.

Wonders – Wonders of the World by is an iPad app available for $1.99 through the iTunes App Store. This application is a list of remarkable constructions of classical antiquity. Based on guidebooks popular among the ancient Hellenic tourists this app will allow you to explore the content of the Seven Wonders of the World. With the seven wonders, being limited to only seven you will find that the only one that has still remained intact is the Great Pyramid of Giza. Each wonder will let you explore different wonders with the use of Google maps, Google news, Twitter, and Flickr. There are more updates coming soon with more wonders of the world.

Kids’ Quiz — Wonders of the World by Apollo Medien GmbH for $0.99 is essentially an iPhone app available for iPad and iPod Touch. This is a fun quiz app for kids that will help them learn more about general knowledge like what the Romans used the Colosseum for. From Stone Age to the present this app contains 100 multiple choice questions about some amazing places on this planet. With beautiful illustrations there are two modes to play, you can test each other in a two-player game or play individually against the clock. This is an ideal learning app for children and adults. Use the shake option for a new question with over 20 fun characters to select.

LIFE Wonders of the World Photography Book by Time Home Entertainment Inc. is a book for the iPad available for $9.99 at the App Store. This great app contains over 100 photos discovering places like the Grand Canyon to the Galapagos. With fifty wonders in total, you can also see the original and amazing Seven Wonders of the World and more throughout the world. With old wonders listed by the New7Wonders Foundation, there are also natural and man-made wonders for you to explore. There are great stories to accompany favorites such as the Great Wall of China to the Vatican. There is also a chance to travel into outer space for a close-up look at the international space station, and into the sea for a sensational view of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Wonders of the World – iPad Edition by Appz Venture is available for $1.49 through iTunes App Store. Explore the Seven Wonders of the World with this great app. The number seven was chosen because the Greeks believed it to be the representation of perfection and plenty. Get information on the seven ancient wonders like the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Colossus of Rhodes, Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, Lighthouse of Alexandria and the Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus. Then see the medieval wonders including the Colosseum, Stonehenge, Taj Mahal, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Great Wall of China, Porcelain Tower of Nanjing, Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, Cairo Citadel, Cluny Abbey, Ely Cathedral and Hagia Sophia.
