Ever tried to discover new applications on the Apple App Store? Yea, we know — it’s not very good is it? This is where Chomp comes in. An application for the iPhone that uses social graphs, recommendations, and a redesigned search feature to help you find the best apps that fit your needs.
Chomp has been around since around the start of the year, and back then the search feature was about as good as Apple‘s. One frustrating thing about Apple’s App Store is that developers are constantly putting rogue words in to help the app come up in the results, even when you searched for something completely different. Chomp aim to stop this with the new revamped search feature, on the app and on chomp.com.
Reviews are also a simple chore. You can say if you love it or hate it and then leave a 60-word comment.
Chomp currently has over 400,000 active users, and is still growing. So if the word is spread, it will make it much easier for everyone to find the app they want. With the ability to ‘follow’ your friends and see their recommendations, its also destined to have a very bright future.
Have you used Chomp? Would you recommend it to our readers?
