Final Fantasy XIV: Launch of wireless router before game release

The next installment of the Final Fantasy franchise is due for release on the PC at the end of this month, and on the PS3 in March next year. With the upcoming release of Final Fantasy XIV online game we are starting to see peripherals with branding from the game being released.

Paul Miller of Engadget is reporting that they first spotted this branded Final Fantasy XIV 802.11n router at the TGS show. The wireless router was priced ¥9,980 which works out at today’s exchange rate at around $116. The item was on display just along from Square Enix’s own stand.

It is not one of the most attractive looking routers on the market, and does seem to be on the large side of things. There is no word if it will be available outside of Japan at the moment.

Would you buy one if it becomes available worldwide?
