Final Fantasy XIII: Possibly Better on Xbox 360 then PS3?

Well here is a potentially controversial post for you, if you have ever heard of Metacritic you will probably know that they collate reputable reviews and then average out the games scores, which then give you a metascore, this is a very accurate way of seeing how a game is rated by many different sources.

Currently the Xbox 360 version has a metascore of 83 whereas the PS3 version has a metascore of 82, this means that on average the Xbox 360 version has so far been reviewed more favorably then the PS3 version.

That said metacritic’s PS3 metascore is based on 26 critic reviews, whereas metacritic’s Xbox 360 metascore is only based on 11 critic reviews, so chances are things will even out when more Xbox 360 reviews are added.

Some critics such as GamesRadar, VandalOnline, ComputerandVideoGames and 1UP have scored both versions equally for both consoles, if Metascore add more reviews for both versions of the game we will do a follow up and keep you up-to-date.

everyone is a tool here its both the same game on either console, the only difference is that the PS3 version is one disc compared to the 3 or 4 on the XBOX 360, so on that basis alone i would have to say its better because the PS3 version have only one disc so less clutter…

The 360 of the version of the game comes in 1080p and 1080i and 720p(I have the game). The graphics are probably slightly better for the PS3, but you dont have to wait 30min to play the game, in addition, on the 360 you can download it to your hard drive, and when you do, the loading is almost instant, as opposed to the PS3 one which uses blu-ray, and takes longer to access.

i have both a 360 and a ps3. i opted for the ps3 version just because of the higher resolution. but if i only had a 360, i would be fine with that. I played through FF XII in 2007 on the ps2. That game's resolution is far below both the 360 and the ps3, but it was the story that kept me going. It was the addictive leveling up that kept me going. If I finish the game on the ps3 and don't feel like it was a successful story, then it doesn't really matter what console i played… Read more »

The cutscenes alone pon the ps3 were 32gb, it doesnt take a scientest to realise that they has been a shed load of compresison techniques on the 360 to fit it all on.The 360 had a resolution of 576 (not HD minimum) but is bumped up through hd techniques to screen it at 720 on a hd tv.Basically judged on its own merit it is stilla good game (as seen on metacritic) but compared to the ps3 siblin it is a pretty shoddy conversion. All my points are from digitsl foundry which has all the stats, pictures and videos to back… Read more »

It is pretty well documented that the ps3 version is significantly better than the xbox one. For the record I am an xbox owner and am very dissapointed. Yes the in game engine is almost identical and yes the 360 has a very small frame rate advantage (average 25 instead of 21 frames per second). But the main spectacle that Square wanted to get across is the story and the cut scenes. the 360 version had texture blocking on the cutscenes and is far less smooth.its common sense really, the game was built around the ps3 which offers 48 gb… Read more »

This is a joke, honestly. The only reason there's a difference is because the reviews are from DIFFERENT reviewers. They aren't the same people reviewing the game on both consoles.

The game is perhaps better on the 360. But a comparison of the average scores both version get, based on different review sample sizes, shouldn't even lead one to ask the question. Suppose I'm the only one to evaluate the French version of the movie Avatar (say), and I give it a 10 out of 10. And suppose there are 100 reviews of the English version, some good some bad. Am I really entitled to ask whether the translated version of the movie is better? (The answer is no.)

I can only hope this site is joking. The PS3 version is PROVEN to be superior to the Xbox 360 version, with uncompressed sound and video making it look so much better. The Xbox version runs in 526p while the PS3 version runs in 720p. Aside from that, they're the exact same game, the Xbox version has nothing better.

Yea and if you actually paid attention the score for the PS3 was taken with a larger review sample size.

Goodness the spin you bots try to employ.
