Final Fantasy Versus XIII: What if it comes to Xbox 360?

We are sure you have heard the news by now that the upcoming RPG, Final Fantasy Versus XIII might be making an appearance on the Xbox 360. Considering it was set in stone that this would be a PS3 exclusive, what are your thoughts on a potential backtrack by Square-Enix?

Just in case you missed it, Square CEO Yoichi Wada made the following statement during an investor meeting in which he also discussed financials. When talking about Versus XIII he had this to say:

“We’ll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement.”

He later attempted to backtrack on his Twitter account, with the following message to the gaming world:

“It looks like the ‘net is heating up. Versus on Xbox? What I said at the earnings press conference was just that until a formal announcement is made at the announcement time, all points about all titles are not finalized.”

What are your thoughts on this? We’re guessing Square would think it is a good business step to release the game on 360, especially since Final Fantasy XIII was well received. It is natural that PS3 owners might feel aggrieved by this, but hey, business is business right?

Would Square really keep an upcoming title exclusive on one console only, for the sake of keeping that fanbase happy? It seems to us like the release of FFXIII on 360 has broadened their minds.

Let us know where you stand on this.
