Square-Enix has taken a long time to deliver on a Final Fantasy Type-0 English version of the game but finally there will be some light at the tunnel somewhat with the decision to bring the game to next-gen instead with a Final Fantasy Type-0 PS4 and Xbox One HD remaster.
The big news however isn’t on next-gen versions that are on the way, it is the fact that Square-Enix has blocked the work of some fans who have tried to please everyone else by working on a Final Fantasy Type-0 English download translation to convert the voices to English from the original Japanese PSP version released in 2011.
It has been an ongoing project for months but we can now tell you that Square-Enix has sent cease and desist notices to the creators Operation Doomtrain. A statement from the fan team can be read below:
“Unfortunately I’m forced to remove my posts and pages related to the popular Final Fantasy Type-0 fan translation project. That’s right, certain game company thinks that threats and false accusations are the way to treat its biggest fans.”
It now means after all of the hard work behind the scenes, the Final Fantasy Type-0 English game for PSP may never come out unless it is officially sanctioned by Square-Enix.
With Square-Enix instead preferring to bring out PS4 and Xbox One versions, a PSP game in English is not going to happen. Obviously there is a lot of disappointment about this, although others have said that Square-Enix are well within their right to do this as its their owned property.
