Final Fantasy 7 Remake PS4 release date in 2016 or 2017

Now that the dust has settled on the E3 bombshell that is the Final Fantasy 7 remake, we wanted to look ahead and think about when we could possibly see the Final Fantasy 7 remake release date on PS4.

To recap, Sony announced during their press conference that the game would be coming first to PS4. That means that the game won’t be completely exclusive to PS4, but perhaps a timed-exclusive on PS4 instead similar to the Rise of the Tomb Raider deal on Xbox One.

What was missing at the end of that epic Final Fantasy VII trailer though was the release date. Square-Enix didn’t show off any actual gameplay either so we are all left to guess when we will actually be able to play the game.

It’s safe to say that it won’t be out this year, but do you think there’s a chance that it will be ready for 2016? After all, this is Square-Enix that we’re talking about – who notoriously took forever on Final Fantasy Versus XIII before revamping the title into FFXV for PS4 and Xbox One.

Fans will obviously be praying for a 2016 release, but perhaps we shouldn’t get our hopes up too much as a 2017 launch could be on the cards too.

Final Fantasy VII is a massive game in terms of scale and it is going to take Square-Enix a long time to recreate those beautiful towns for the PS4 engine from the ground up.

We’re still literally buzzing from excitement on the fact that it is finally coming, so Square-Enix can take as long as they need providing that they do it right.

The trailer was amazing so we have high hopes that we’ll all get to see the game on PS4 which will do justice to the legacy of the PS1 original.

Final Fantasy fans, give us your thoughts on the game. Do you think that 2016 is a slim possibility too with 2017 much more likely given Square-Enix’s tendency to really take their time on games?
