FIFA 14 Vs PES 2014 release date ultimatum

While EA has already finalized a release date for FIFA 14, we are pleased to confirm a release date for PES 2014 as well this week. Here is where it gets interesting though, as Konami has revealed that PES 2014 is going to be released on the exact same date as FIFA 14. Let the wars begin.

Just to remind you, FIFA 14 is set for a release on September 24 in the US and September 27 for everyone else in Europe. Prior to this week, Konami had kept everyone waiting with a launch date for PES 2014, until now that is. PES 2014 is going to be releasing on the very same date, meaning that you now have the interesting decision on which game to pick up.

We say interesting, but many of you may argue that it is actually the easiest decision ever, with FIFA seemingly becoming the number one football game of choice in recent years. Konami will obviously have other ideas though and must be confident about PES 2014 if they are willing to risk a potential sales embarrassment by launching on the same day.

While EA has already committed to releasing FIFA 14 on the PC (albeit without the Ignite Engine) on September 24/27, Konami are yet to confirm whether a PC version of PES 2014 is on the way and it certainly looks likely that it won’t be available on the same date as the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game.

Have you already seen enough of either game to decide which one you are getting? In a way, we hope Konami has brought something better to the table this time around, as it would be nice to have a closer battle – just like the old days and not just a one horse race.
