FIFA 14 UK with Gareth Bale a good choice

As expected and as we told you earlier on in the day, EA has now revealed the highly anticipated cover star for the UK version of FIFA 14. We had previously suggested that it could be an Englishman chosen as we saw with the FIFA 13 UK cover, but EA has perhaps picked the one guy that a lot of you would have chosen as well.

Without further ado, we can confirm that Premiership player of the year Gareth Bale has been selected to appear on the UK cover of FIFA 14 alongside Lionel Messi. EA has now made the news official by releasing a video showing the process that was used to capture Bale’s likeness and movements in the game, whilst at the same time hearing a few words from the man himself.

Being on the cover of FIFA 14 is obviously a big deal in terms of global awareness and marketing opportunities. Bale has said it is a dream come true given the other stars that have featured in the past and this time he won’t be sharing the spotlight with another Premiership star since we had two last year.

Is Gareth Bale the right man for the cover though? We think very few could argue that he doesn’t deserve to be there considering his amazing season for Tottenham Hotspur. Check out the clip for yourself above and let us know how you feel about buying the game with Bale on the front.

There’s no sign of that debatable hand celebration that he does though, which is a good thing.
