We have some fantastic news for FIFA fans now, as just before EA get their E3 2011 press conference underway this week, it looks as if the official release date for FIFA 12 has been revealed early, courtesy of some online retailers that couldn’t contain their excitement.
The information has surfaced via this exclusive report over at Xbox 360 Achievements. According to them and their sources, FIFA 12 will release on September 30th, they have included a legit looking screenshot with their report which backs up the 30/9/11 date.
FIFA usually releases around that period, and just for your reference, FIFA 11 came out on 28 September 2010 in America, and October 1st in Europe, it’s still beyond us why EA insist on releasing FIFA in the US first, despite the fact that football, not soccer, is obviously much more popular in Europe.
On a side note, we’ve found an additional report here which claims that FIFA 12 will be priced at the ultra high RRP of £59.99 – with EA seemingly taking a page out of Activision’s high priced tactics for their Call of Duty games. However, it’s not really anything to worry about as UK supermarkets will most likely start a pricing war once again, and gamers will benefit by being able to pick up the game for £25-30 – that’s our prediction anyway.
Is FIFA 12 a day one purchase for you regardless of the price, or do you swear allegiance to the PES family? Give us your thoughts on the date and price.
