Earlier this month we told you that EA Sports would be releasing FIFA 12 on September 30, now EA has officially confirmed the game’s release date and it slightly differs to what we reported last time.
A recent post on VG247 tells us that the game will in fact arrive in North America on September 27, as for Europe the game is still set for September 30. Just in case you were wondering these release dates apply to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC variants of the game.
Currently we do not know when Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 aka PES 2012 will arrive, however according to Wikipedia (which is not always the most reliable source) it is scheduled for a release sometime in October, this means that FIFA 12 will get a head start on their rivals, perhaps this will be enough to crown them champions in this year’s battle.
Whilst making the announcement EA told us that the game’s impact engine will be coming to the PC version of the game along with the HD console versions, we spoke about this neat feature in late May and we are sure that this news will be welcomed by PC gamers. While we are on the subject we should tell you that the digital version of FIFA 12 for PC will be downloadable via Origin.
Sadly during the announcement we didn’t get any details regarding a pre-release demo, however given EA’s track record we can almost confidently say that a demo will hit Xbox Live and PSN sometime during September, we will have to keep you posted as and when we can officially confirm this.
If you missed E3 2011 you will have failed to see all of the FIFA 12 announcements and gameplay footage which was shown off during the event, luckily our previous post lets you catch up on all of the juicy details, watch the videos and view the screenshots, check out this link for all of this.
We think that Konami would be sensible to release PES 2012 before or on the same date as FIFA 12, obviously it all depends on how developers are getting on with their FIFA 12 rival, however with so much hype surrounding EA Sports’ offering we can’t really see PES 2012 making much of an impact if it arrives too late, can you?
