There has been a lot to look forward to at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, such as the Ferrari 488 GTB. We already knew the Prancing Horse was working on this car thanks to Top Gear, but this is the first time people have been able to get up close and personal.
The purists may not like the drop in displacement over a turbo, and also feel the looks are a little too over the top, but this is the way forward and can see Ferrari offering more turbo cars down the line, as they can draw from their F1 technology.
While we were treated to some impressive details, we were shocked to see the Ferrari 488 GTB price tag omitted. However, the expectations are that it will cost more than the 458 Italia, which costs £178,851 in the UK.
You might wonder why the increase, but you have to remember that turbos do not come cheap, and neither does the latest enhanced aerodynamics and improved interior.
The numbers — The engine is a 3.9-litre unit with twin turbos offering 660 horsepower and 560lb ft at 3000rpm. This equates to a 0 to 60 mile per hour time of 3 seconds and a top speed of 205mph.
Will you be willing to pay more for the 488 GTB?
