Father’s Day animated Google Doodle

Popping on to Google today might be a reminder if you have forgotten something, which shows a new Google doodle for Father’s Day 2012. This years animated doodle starts with the letter L sitting in a chair reading a newspaper, then a remote controlled robot carrying a hot drink shows up and hands the drink to Father.

You can see the quick animation by visiting Google UK, US, or many other Google home pages around the world. The doodle is honoring an event that gives many children a chance to show their Father’s they care, although we wonder how many people know that it is an event started by Sonora Dodd, an American in the early 20th century.

Google links their logo to a search for Father’s Day and provides a range of products, services, and information for you to read. This will help kids find crafts to create something last minute for dad this weekend, or you could even get some last minute Father’s Day gift ideas if you still need to pop out before visiting parents.

Did you forget it was Father’s Day, and if so how will you show you care today? On a side note we’d love to hear your thoughts on Google doodles, and if you love the service Google provides by changing their logo on important events.
