Fallout 4 silence prompts petition

It has been a while since we last spoke about Fallout 4, with Bethesda making it clear that they are not ready to talk about a Fallout 4 announcement any time soon. Fans are growing frustrated with the silence though and we can see that a petition has even been set up calling for answers.

It sounds like a drastic move to take, but then again the gaming community has shown many times that they are willing to use the powers of social media to get what they want if that’s what it takes – the Adam Orth and Microsoft DRM crisis as a classic example.

We speak on behalf of many gamers in saying that we hope Fallout 4 is announced at E3 2014 or towards the end of the year. Bethesda are obviously working on the game behind closed doors and the silence is rather painful, but is it time for the developer to speak up to give fans hope on a potential Fallout 4 release date in 2015?

We have seen today that a petition has recently been set up, calling on Bethesda to tell the community what is going on with the status of Fallout 4. We’re not sure if we have seen a petition of this nature, specifically asking for information on an unreleased game before, but we admire the creator’s bravery and attempts to tempt Bethesda to comment.

Sadly, the petition only has 11 signatures so far, but it will be interesting to see how far it goes. Fallout 4 is one of the most anticipated games in recent times, but obviously will be well worth the wait once Bethesda are ready to spill the beans.

Many fans are still hurt over the Survivor2299 hoax, so do you support this petition asking Bethesda to publicly confirm Fallout 4? Give us your reaction to this below.

What I continue to fail to understand is why the need for secrecy even exists. 1/ It’s not like someone else is going to beat Bethesa to market with a Fallout release. 2/ Perhaps they are concerned about creating hype for a project they might abandon and subsequently have to answer to… whom? Us? So? 3/ Video games mean a lot to me, but they dont represent true criticality in life.Perhaps I am mistaken? There’s some massive consumer downside to releasing details on a game 2-3 years in advance? I guess I hate to have to say it, but someone… Read more »

I just wish they give an estimated release date or date they’re starting to make the game. What’s the point of hiding these facts? It’s stupid.
They can take all the time they need to make a perfect product but, as a company they should still give an estimated date. (Example: sometime in 2016 or 2017)

Well I have to admit, Fallout 4 is one of the very few games that will a system seller for me. Currently own the Xbox 360 and have both Fallout 3 and New Vegas downloaded from the Xbox Live Marketplace, along with all their DLCs. Same for Skyrim aswell. Love Bethesda’s big single player open world RPGs. True A+++ games. Titanfall and Infamous: Second Son just can’t hold a candle to something like Fallout 4. Fallout 4 is the game that will make me get the Playstation 4. Which probably won’t be for a very long time. But look on… Read more »

People have put up so many of these petitions and all of them are being ignored. Bethesda is probably enjoying all the attention lol.
