Facebook has finally rolled out the option to select a Facebook Video Profile picture for your account after rolling it out towards the end of 2015 for limited users.
Now it appears to be available for everyone, that includes on desktop and on mobile for iOS and Android.
While Facebook may maintain that this is a brand new feature conjured up by their creative team, it doesn’t take a genius to work out that they (probably) borrowed the initial idea that Snapchat first deployed with their Snapchat Profile GIFS.
If you don’t believe us, take a look at the similarities between the two features, with these handy GIF comparisons which show both features in action – almost idential right?
Meanwhile, users on social media are already aware that the two features are alike and have started to use Snapchat filters to create their new Facebook Video Profile picture.
