Facebook update for January 1, 2015

Facebook has just sent a forced notification on users, advising them that their terms and data policies will once again be changing. A Facebook update on January 1 2015 is happening and we have a quick heads-up on what you should expect to see changed.

It’s obviously not the first time that Facebook has updated their privacy settings, but we can’t remember the last time that Facebook issued a direct notification for every user in their notifications tab.

Facebook has redirected users to this page, giving them a heads-up on the areas which will be targeted in the update. They include changes to data policy and cookies policy, while Facebook are promising improved ads for users as well, as of January.

Some of you may find the notification a little daunting though, especially when it is worded like “By using our services after Jan 1, you agree to our updated terms”.

Either way though, this change is happening and we can already see it being a topic of intense debate on other social media sites such as Twitter.

Make sure you read through the changes in the link provided above and let us know what you think of the upcoming Facebook January 1 2015 update.

Are you worried, or do you view this as a positive change? Did you appreciate the direct notification on your page or not?
