Facebook Send Button: New Innovation For Sharing

Today saw the Facebook Send Button launched, and is described as a new innovation for sharing. This means that rather sharing something with all your friends on Facebook, you can just click the new ‘Send’ button to those who you wish to see what you have to show them.

How it works is very simple, you just paste the URL you wish to share and then select the friends that you want to share it with. This is certainly a good idea, as we all know that all our friends do not share the same interests or have the same sense of humor. You can even add a piece of code on your website, so Facebook users can share the webpage directly.

The Social network has come under fire recently for trying to share too much, but Facebook believes that these are all features that will help users share things with their friends much easier. You decide if you think this is one button too far?

Knowing if someone has sent you something using the send button is easy, this can be explained in more detail at FB.Event.subscribe. We have to wonder if it is just as easy to make lists and then share them with certain lists of your Facebook friends? For more details visit Facebook Developers.

What are your thoughts on the new Facebook send button?
