Facebook Mobile Event: No Facebook Phone – Disappointed?

As most of you will already be aware, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has already addressed the audience as part of the big Facebook Mobile Event, but he didn’t announce what many of you had hoped for.

Of course we’re talking about the Facebook Phone, as it had been rumored to death prior to the event happening, but it didn’t happen, as it looks as if the Facebook team are more focused on trying to enhance their mobile versions of Facebook in an attempt to provide a similar experience to it’s desktop counterpart.

The big three things that Zuckerberg did announce are Single Sign-On, Places API and Deals Platform, you’ll be able to read specific details on these over at this Phandroid report. The new deals platform sounds good for Facebook users on the move though, as it looks like you’ll be able to take advantage of special discounts in stores, stores which have a deal in place with Facebook – more on that later.

We’re more concerned for your thoughts on the lack of a Facebook Phone announcement though. Has it disappointed you? – Do you still think it will happen?
