Facebook down Account temporarily unavailable error causing problems

Recently I tried signing in to Facebook only to see an error message reading “Account temporarily unavailable – Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes”, thinking this was an isolated I waited 5 minutes and tried again, however I still can’t log in.

We searched Twitter to see if this was an isolated case and found hundreds of reports of the issue ( see here)”>facebook account unavailable), currently we are unaware of what is causing this problem, therefore we thought we would ask our readers if they are affected by the issue. You can see the exact error message below. We saw a similar issue affect the popular social networking website back in March, however never really found out what caused it.

I live in the UK, therefore we wondered whether the error is only affecting people from this region, therefore please let us know whether you are affected by the problem outside of the UK, scroll down to the bottom of this post and leave us a comment to tell where in the world you are experiencing problems.

We looked at the tweets and saw that people seem to be affected all over the world as well as UK, we saw people complaining about the issue who are from Cincinnati, New York, Norway and the Philippines, therefore it looks like it is a global outage.

Update: Just as I was about to publish this post Facebook seemed to work just fine, for me the error occurred between 2.50pm and 3.05pm GMT, are you still unable to access Facebook?
