Extended Skyrim Dawnguard wait due to localization

If it just happens that you are waiting for a non-English version of the upcoming Dawnguard expansion for Skyrim, it turns out that you will have to wait a little bit longer, than the June 26 release date that US and UK gamers are expecting the new content to arrive on.

Bethesda has announced on Twitter, that the Spanish, Italian, German and French versions of Dawnguard will actually be releasing in the middle of July, with no set date attached yet. The extended wait is obviously due to Bethesda having to work overtime in getting all the translations sorted out accurately, but then again there’s no reason why gamers living in these countries could still pick up the English version instead.

For example, if you have migrated to Spain, you could simply head to the US or UK store on June 26 and pick up Dawnguard using those Microsoft Points. Since Dawnguard isn’t tied to online gameplay, there should be no regional problems in doing this, but that’s only if your knowledge of the English language is good enough of course.

A few days ago we informed you about a rather juicy 8 minute hands-on video for the new content, but unfortunately it looks like ZeniMax has already been busy removing the videos almost instantly. However, we don’t have much longer to wait for the magical June 26 release, so you’ll all be able to get your fix soon.

Are you playing an Italian, French, Spanish or German version of Skyrim? If so, let us know your thoughts on having to wait until mid-July to get it. Will you be picking up an English copy instead because you simply can’t wait?
