Even though people will be able to preorder their Datsun redi-GO tomorrow, May, 1, 2016; you will still not know the exact price of this new model, or the variants that will be available to buy.
However, we do know that the Datsun redi-GO price in India will be between INR 2.5 lakh and INR 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom), although the full price list will be announced in June, along with the variant list as well.
It does seem strange for dealers to start accepting bookings, especially when customers do not yet know the precise price they will be paying, or even the variant they will go for. They have not even seen a demo unit or had a test drive, which does show how excited some people are about this upcoming car.
One of the reasons that could explain the popularity of this model is to do with the economical 0.8-liter three cylinder engine, which delivers decent performance and fuel efficiency figures. Ok, so while we do not know the exact figures, these will also be revealed to us in June, but we are told they will be best in class.
This is a bold claim seeing as though the Datsun redi-GO rival, which consists of the Hyundai Eon, Maruti Alto 800, Renault Kwid and the Tata Nano are going to be tough to compete with.
