Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Levelling up simplified with three attributes only?

We recently informed you that the visuals for The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim were looking very impressive on the PS3, but now we have some new snippets of other information about the game which you may have not heard about yet.

Bethesda are well and truly in advertise mode for the game it seems, as with less than two months to go before the global release of Skyrim, it looks as if Bethesda are trying to spread the word as much as possible that Skyrim really is going to be something special worth waiting for – not like you need to remind Elder Scrolls fans of course.

Fresh information has surfaced from a Skyrim preview in the upcoming edition of the Official Xbox Magazine, in which brand new screenshots from the game were also unveiled – you’ll have to wait a while though as those screenshots haven’t been released yet.

As for the new details, we’re hearing that some enemies will now try to flee from battle once they realise that they are no match for your character. Also confirmed in Skyrim is that stolen horses will run away once you leave them and town guards will make you cough up a fee for stealing the horse once you enter the nearest town or city.

It also seems as if levelling up has been simplified in Skyrim, as players will apparently only get to add 10 points to health, magicka and stamina, unlike Oblivion which gave you a much broader choice of attributes to increase – hopefully we’ll get more details on this particular aspect soon for you.

Those pesky bandits will continue to influence gameplay, as details from the magazine also reveal that bandits will attempt to roll boulders across bridges as you are attempting to walk across them, which we’re guessing will cut off multiple routes to certain maps of the map – interesting if it turns out to be true.

Not amazing details there we agree, but worthy of informing you we feel. The Spriggan enemy will be back as well, and she will once again be able to heal herself, no word on if she’ll still be able to summon bears yet though. Head to this NeoGaf forum post for more feedback on the magazine spread.

What are your thoughts on enemies fleeing battles in Skyrim and simplified levelling up? As always, we’ll inform you when we have fresh updates to share with you.
